Marscha Cavaliere is a Fashion, Portrait and Landscape photographer known for works infused with soft, ethereal, Southern-coastal light. After printing her work, she builds wooden supports and uses paint and an encaustic process to create truly unique pieces that reflect a sense of elegance, serenity, and strength. By selectively de-focusing the camera and using the wax her intention is to achieve a genre she calls ‘Photographic Impressionism’.
Born and raised in South Florida, Cavaliere had an early desire to explore the world, and spent 25 years as a flight attendant before returning to ground in Atlanta, Georgia. An early foray into real estate led to the purchase of an Atlanta space that became her first curated collection: a photography-based Fine Art gallery showcasing the works of emerging and mid-career internationally known photographic artists. In editing and curating, ‘speaking art’ with gallerists in Atlanta and New York as well as helping unknown talent realize their dreams, Cavaliere found what she calls “her highest self’, all the while continuing to build on her own body of work.
Children and Family Portraiture were Cavaliere’s early focus at the start of her 45 year photographic career, but years of world traveling and urban living expanded her repertoire to include Interior, Architectural and Corporate work, engaging her vision as it reflected her lifestyle. A brief and restful residence in the country opened her soul to the earthiness of Landscape and Equine photography. A final geographical relocation pulled Cavaliere to her current location, a seaside community in Northwest Florida. Here her portfolio expanded to include the stunning Seascapes for which the region is best known, as well as images sparked by the work of her daughter, Nicole Paloma, an independent designer known for women’s couture. And in this world Cavaliere found her passion: Fashion Photography, both on the runway and off.
